With a great sense of humor and imagination, the Japanese artist Takashi Murakami has created a fusion of history and the spirit of the times, manga aesthetics, and pop culture in the “wonderland of Versailles.” The temporary art exhibition in 2010 brings contemporaneity to the historic Palace of Versailles, animated by Murakami’s colorful iconography, drawing a pattern of flowers that smile at the visitor on a textile floor customized for the occasion.
